Prado Enea Gran Reserva, Bodegas Muga 2006

Bodegas Muga是西班牙Rioja產區的重要名莊。酒莊共釀5款紅酒,最貴的是Aro, 然後Torre Muga, Prado Enea, Selection Especial(前排介紹過) 和 Muga Rioja。

若您飲過多次全系列的酒款之後,心目中Muga酒莊釀得最精彩的酒應該是Prado Enea ,屬於老式的Gran Reserva紅酒。而Aro或Torre走的是新式路線,每瓶出廠要價110歐元(Torre 60歐),因為太濃厚,有太多新木桶香氣,不是我心目中的傳統Rioja;連酒莊第三代的經營者與釀酒師Manu和Jorge Muga都私下承認釀造這款酒只是要證明他們也有能力釀出美國酒評家Robert Parker喜好的高分酒。 p.s. 呢位酒評家退休了,聽聞很多澳洲酒莊不再追求爆香、落重本用新桶的technical wine, 開始還原基本步,釀造terroir driven wine, 以表現風土特質。這樣大家以後就可以飲到不同風味的澳洲酒了。

Rioja Prado Enea Gran Reserva, Bodegas Muga 2006, 葡萄品種:70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha and the remaining 10% Mazuelo and Graciano, 橡木桶內發酵,不控制溫度,不添加酵母。浸漬期時間長短不定,但可以持續長達20天。將葡萄酒在大橡木桶中陳釀12個月之後,再在橡木桶中陳釀36個月,最後入樽陳釀最少36個月,才出售。

The 2006 Prado Enea is a phenomenal bottle of traditional Rioja at its best. A blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha and the remaining 10% Mazuelo and Graciano aged for a long time in oak and bottled before release. This is a practice quite common from yesteryear, but that is a true rarity today. The technical data provided talks about incredible parameters, 14% alcohol and a pH of 3.39, both extremely low for a warm vintage like 2006. The grapes are sourced from higher-altitude terraced plots where the climate is cooler and drier and the soils are rich in clay. This is a wine that is not automatically produced every year. The wine spends its elevage in oak containers of different size, origin and age for no less than three years. The nose is intoxicating with a superb mixture of tertiary and more primary aromas like old furniture, cloves, cracked pepper, incense and cigar ash plus cherries in liqueur (that Garnacha!). The palate is medium-bodied, with great freshness (Jorge Muga tells me the pH is stabilized with aging in barrel), acidity and balance, with a silky texture, ultra-fine tannins and great persistence and length. This wine feels younger than it is, and seems to be aging at a glacial pace. With the stuffing and balance it has this should make very old bones, and drink greatly throughout its life. Superb! At this quality level the price seems like a bargain. 90,000 bottles produced. The next Prado Enea will be 2009 as they didn't get what they look for in this wine in either 2007 and 2008. Those were two cold vintages, and 2007 had 100 liters of rain during the harvest. Prado Enea is harvested in November and in 2008 there was frost at the end of October.

If I was asked to hold up a bottle of what modern Ribera del Duero should taste like and what is should aspire to, the 2008 Alion would be the one in my hand. It has more intensity and volume on the nose when compared directly with the 2007. Tasted in February 2012, and then in January 2013, it remains a fabulous expression of Ribera del Duero. It boasts of heavenly bouquet of black plum, crushed violets and tobacco that soar from the glass, while displaying a level of delineation that would serve a lesson to many of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, silky-smooth tannins that belie the structure underneath. The acidity lends the 2008 a little more edginess than the 2007, while the finish has a wonderful sense of symmetry and focus. World class. Drink 2016-2025+.

提起Ribera del Duero人們就會想到西班牙酒王Vega Sicilia,但其實還有一款稀世珍釀和Vega Sicillia並駕齊驅,同樣襯托起Ribera del Duero西班牙首席葡萄酒產區的光環,就是Dominio de Pingus。

今日介紹Flor de Pingus是Domino de Pingus的副牌酒,均出自西班牙偉大釀酒師Peter Sisseck。但是實際上Flor de Pingus並不是如同一般副牌酒 採用正牌同葡萄園較年輕的葡萄所生產的,Flor de Pingus的葡萄園是完全和Pingus分開來的。 2012年份果實取自La Horra十六個地塊,分別在小型不銹鋼桶和4000L不銹鋼桶中發酵,再在橡木桶中進行(50%新桶,50%一年桶),之後在桶中繼續陳年18個月。

The 2012 Flor de Pingus is produced with the fruit from 16 plots of vineyards in La Horra (Burgos) which are vinified by plot in small, 4,000-liter stainless steel vats mostly with indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation was carried out in barrels (50% new, 50% second-use) where the wine aged for 16-18 months. It-s again an austere closed red, with a shy nose that needs pulling. What you get is very harmonious and elegant, no exuberance here, but classical proportions, perfectly integrated oak and superb balance. A very worthy version of Flor, a wine that has grown a lot since the initial vintages.

Bosconia是一款非常芳香而且充滿女性特色的Rioja,緊緻的結構感加上豐富的水果特質,令其在長達5年的桶陳時間裡愈加優雅。如今飲起來仍是恰似精緻的輕熟女,不失新鮮的活力,不沾塵灰的純淨。

Vina Bosconia是裝於布根地型酒瓶中,原因很簡單,因為一開始這個葡萄園主要種植就是黑皮諾Pinot Noir ,這是創莊莊主Rafael Lopez de Heredia y Landeta先生為了仿效法國布根地而開發出來的葡萄園,一直十九世紀末,這個園高比例Pinot Noir所釀造出來的紅酒,還一直命名為 “Rioja Cepa Borgona”(布根地品種Rioja紅酒)。
作為Rioja地區最古老的三家酒莊之一,R.Lopez de Heredia是少部分仍保持家族式經營的酒莊。釀造這款酒的葡萄均來自於海拔465米左右的El Bosque葡萄園,平均樹齡約為40年。El Bosque葡萄園面積為十五公頃,其中十一公頃為Tempranillo,兩公頃為Garnacho,以及各一公頃的Mazuelo和Graciano。秉持酒莊的傳統,Vina Bosconia Tinto Reserva同樣在大型橡木桶中進行陳年培醞長達五年,裝瓶後必須再經過六到八年的瓶中陳年才能上市。

A stunning vintage of this Rioja classic. Ripe and concentrated, yet cool and delicate with tons of fine tannin. Lots of earthy, autumnal Burgundy-like nuances, as well as notes of violets and plums. Long, complete finish. Drink or hold.

2006 was a hard year to follow, even if 2007 was a great year in Rioja and exceptional for López de Heredia. The 2007 Viña Bosconia Reserva shows a little tannic, fulfilling the reputation for being a more rustic wine than Viña Tondonia. There are notes of chocolate-covered cherries and hints of forest floor. Maybe with a little more time in bottle? 70,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2014.

西班牙著名的釀酒廠Bodegas Volver 在Alicante省新成立的酒莊。釀造呢款旗艦酒 Triga的葡萄來自5個不同的葡萄園,4個葡萄園1925-1935年種植未嫁接Monastrell老藤,1個葡萄酒1981年種植Cabernet Sauvignon, 海拔在650-750米之間。區域因海拔高度有差異及地中海氣候影響。冬季寒冷,山峰常積雪,溫差很大,溫度可由 -6℃至15-20℃。在夏季,白天氣溫可高達40℃,但夜間可急劇下降至10℃左右。

Rioja Alta 最精華葡萄園中心的Haro,名莊林立,其中簡稱為CVNE 的Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España(西班牙北方葡萄酒公司),創立於1879年,堪稱利奧哈最重量級的老字號酒廠。

雖然隨著時代的進步更新了大多的釀酒設備,但在CVNE酒廠中留著的是百年傳承的熱血,雖然也推出充滿現代風格且貴價的特別酒款,但在旗下眾多品牌當中,最知名的當然首推”Imperial”,這個從1920年開始生產上市的酒款,全部以來自位於Villalba和Haro的自有葡萄園,其中85%為Tempranillo並混合約15%的Graciano和Mazuelo,手工採收並嚴格篩選最健康且成熟度最佳的葡萄,只限定在最好的年份生產”Gran Reserva”,通常經過10年以上的陳年才會推出市場,酒香熟美複雜,酒質精緻、風格優雅,而且具備陳年實力。

Red fruit and plenty of spices (nutmeg), the palate shows great acidity and abundant tannins that need resolving with time in bottle. Great tension and nerve. Brilliant ruby-red. Complex, highly perfumed scents of red fruit preserves, vanilla, woodsmoke and sandalwood, with a sexy floral quality in the background. Quite concentrated for the vintage, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors firmed by a spine of minerality. Closes smooth, broad and spicy, with outstanding focus and fine-grained tannins. While one could enjoy this wine immensely right now, my guess is that it has at least a good decade-plus of life ahead of it.

Château du Domaine de l'Eglise,位處 法國波爾多右岸的Pomerol波美侯村, 是相當細的一個產酒村,主要種植Merlot 和Cabernet Franc 為主, 波爾多最貴紅酒Petrus 也來自此村,近二十年的出品被飲家推崇備至。

Château du Domaine de l'Eglise 是 Casteja 家族1973年買下的其中一個產業,另外有左岸5級莊 Batailley, Lynch Moussas, 右岸St-Emilion GCC Trottevieille 等等, 實力雄厚,對酒質控制非常嚴格。

Château du Domaine de l'Eglise 是波美侯最悠久的酒莊之一,歷史可追朔至1589年。坐落於波美侯高地中央,土壤多為砂礫黏土,平均樹齡約40年,相鄰當地教堂,便因此得名,亦與Petrus酒莊相距不遠,附近還有Rouget, L'Eglise Clinet 酒莊等等,地段土質不容忽視。

深紅酒色,於60%新橡木桶內陳年16個月,酒體圓潤優雅、輕柔細緻,帶有櫻桃、桑子、紫羅蘭、烏梅等香氣;原瓶醒酒1小時,果香越是濃郁,此酒90%Merlot, 10%Cabernet Franc, 難以估計一般Merlot(左岸都唔得)會有此香氣, 只因pomerol靚田加持。酒體中等,開瓶口腔帶有點苦味,像是來自樹梗,也很有礦物味感覺,醒酒1小時後,苦味淡化,果香增多和圓潤單寧平衡得好好,收尾帶有絲絲雪茄盒香味。如果中段deep多少少,更有L'Eglise Clinet的影子。

Clos La Madeleine 2012 

今日介紹Moueix家族的Belair Monange 的鄰居Clos La Madeleine, 呢間莊早年被巴黎的投資人購入,但沒有用心經營。直至1992年被投資公司SOGEFI 買下,進行大規模改革,設備升級。

Clos La Madeleine 座落St Emilion 高地及斜坡地,同Ausone 的土質類似,和Belair Monange的一樣,先天條件非常好。不過,酒莊佔地僅有2.3公頃,種植76%Merlot, 24%Cabernet Franc, 年產只有500箱(6000支),2007年請到一級莊Angelus金鐘莊主,也是釀酒師的 Hubert de Bouard 做顧問,酒質突飛猛進,2012年係St Emilion 六年一次的評級中,晉升為列級莊Grand Cru Classe. 雖然成名,但認識的飲家仲係唔多,酒價也很相宜。直至2017年又被Moueix家族重金收購,好彩未被拼入Belair Monange, 還是保留Clos La Madeleine 的名稱。

2018年底返過一次貨和試飲過,係我的角度,呢個莊是Hidden Gems, 擁有超級名莊同樣的土質,唔出名,賣價超值,飲落是Terroir driven,香氣撲鼻,酒體優雅。

This wine showed beautifully in my tasting. From a tiny (29 acres) jewel of a property on the hillsides of St.-Emilion , not far from the big boys of the plateau area (Ausone, Belair, etc), the 2012 is dense purple in color, with sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, some crushed rock and floral notes, medium to full body, not a hard edge to be found, and a lush, well-proportioned, beautifully pure finish. This is impressive wine is clearly a sleeper of the vintage, but quantities are very small. Drink it over the next 15 years. The final blend was 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc.

La Massa is made up of grapes from 27 hectares of vineyards, all with southern exposure in the Golden Basin of Panzano. The vineyards are planted at 360 meters above sea level. The soil is a mixture of scaly clay and galestro (loose marl and limestone). The soils fall into three distinct geological formations; an undifferentiated complex of clayey schist and calcareous marl, a formation of scaly yellow and grey marl (galestro) and a third segment of large blocks or layers enclosed in a clayey matrix. The wine is aged in 20 percent new French and 80 percent one-year-old French oak barrels for 12 months. 94 Points, James Suckling "Extremely perfumed with currant, berry and rosemary aromas. Even some lavender. Medium to full body, very fine tannins and lots of fruit. A delicious and refined wine.” 92 Points, Wine Advocate "Warm notes of black cherry and blackberry. This is a velvety and richly textured blend that displays beautiful concentration and color saturation. This is an upfront and immediate wine that offers loads of beautiful intensity. You absolutely can't beat this unbelievable value from Tuscan.

Giampaolo Matta 從小生長在拿坡里,原本要接手家族所經營的皮革事業。但是 Giampaolo 是一個有著自我想法的人,他喜愛葡萄酒。當 90年代他來到 Tuscany 觀光,他突然發現這裡是他心儀已久的地方---他找到了他的新家。

雄心萬丈的 Giampaolo Motta 於是留在 Tuscany,買下位於 Panzano in Chicnti 地區的酒莊,這裡離佛羅倫斯和 Siena 約有30到 40分鐘的車程。Motta 在剛開始前幾年不斷的尋覓著自己的風格,之後很快的確立了要栽種 Sangiovese、Merlot 和 Cabernet Sauvignon,完全不理會 Chianti Classico DOCG 法令的枷鎖,釀製波爾多風格的葡萄酒。 現在 La Massa 酒莊佔地 25公頃,只生產 La Massa和 Giorgio Primo 兩款酒,酒莊年產量達 13萬瓶。如今 Giampaolo 有顧問Carlo Ferrini 從旁協助,旗艦酒 Giorgio Primo 於 1993年到 2001年連續獲頒 Gambero Rosso 的最高等級 Tre Bicchieri (三杯子)獎項。此外,更是受到 Robert Parker 和 Wine Spectator 等全球酒評家高度的評價。

Luce della Vite在意大利文中即為「生命之光」,它的血統高貴,係世界兩大名莊 Frescobaldi花之蝶 (之前有買 CastelGiocondo BdM 2009的酒友可知道一下,她是花之碟家族 另一支BdM) 與 美國Robert Mondavi的合作結晶。Frescobaldi 家族發跡於意大利中部的佛羅倫斯,早在中世紀就擁有橫跨政社經三方勢力。就酒史而言,它於1308年就已有釀酒紀錄,後來對於Sangiovese此一在地品種更有長足研究。1995年,它與美國加州的那帕谷的Robert Mondavi 家族合作,選在Montalcino西南方設置了The Luce Estate(露鵲莊園)。由於當地日照充足且夏季乾燥,有效幫助了莊園南部精華地帶的葡萄生長,產出的果實除了香氣豐富之外,再加上葡萄園本身處於海拔350至420公尺,在Montalcino地區屬於地勢偏高的地帶,也因此涼爽的夜間氣候,更增添了此園複雜多變的質感,Sangiovese在此展現了經典之外的魅力。

        隨著Robert Mondavi的淡出市場,Frescobaldi家族買回了酒莊,但此園名聲未受影響,各年份都是玩家收藏的對象。The Luce Estate(露鵲莊園)目前主要生產著三款酒:旗艦款Luce(露鵲),市場追逐者眾,葡萄主要來自莊園內南部的精華地帶,品種為Sangiovese與Merlot。此酒在紫羅蘭與黑櫻桃的風味之間還有一些辛香味,純淨而優雅,均衡且尾韻帶薄荷感,綿長而曼妙無比。Luce算是Montalcino區域內首款以Sangiovese與Merlot作調和的酒款。這樣的想法,某種程度也反映著意大利與美國兩大名莊合作的理念。不過在Montalcino,只有100%的Sangiovese才能掛上Brunello di Montalcino(DOCG),也因此Luce基本上仍是屬於地區餐酒。

至於Luce 也有少量生產的 Brunello di Montalcino ,主要來自77公頃葡萄園中的小小5公頃,酒款名則是Luce Brunello,平日不易得見 。

Lucente則是Luce的副牌酒,來自同一葡萄園較為東側的土地,也經過了至少12個月的小桶熟陳,酒價相對實惠。這些來自LUCE della VITE的美妙佳釀,閃耀著美妙的生命之光,點點滴滴,值得珍藏。 快點入貨啦!

The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is gorgeous. It may be the very best wine I have ever tasted from San Polo. Sweet red cherries, flowers, mint and spices are woven together beautifully in this juicy, sexy Brunello. The 2007 keeps getting better with time in the glass. Readers looking for a Brunello that will drink well with a minimum of cellaring will find a lot of pleasure here. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025.

The 2013 Langhe Nebbiolo is one of the best values in La Spinetta's lineup. The darker side of Nebbiolo comes through in this powerful, deep wine. Super-ripe dark cherry, spice, new leather and a kiss of French oak hit the explosive finish. Frankly, this is better than many Barbarescos readers will come across. Most of the fruit for the Langhe Nebbiolo comes from Starderi, in Neive.

Winemaker Notes: Typical light red of Nebbiolo with aromas of dried rose petals and dark fruits such as plums and blueberry. Full bodied, chewy and rich with dusty tannins and a juicy yet elegant finish.

The Rivetti brothers of La Spinetta have revolutionized the conception of long-ageing and gruesomely tannic Piedmont wines. Their range of Barolo, Barbarescos and Barberas are powerful yet forward and fruity. The modern style of their wines certainly makes Nebbiolos from the northwest corner of Italy much more approachable when young.

blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, it is a surprisingly opulent, flamboyant, fleshy, soft crowd-pleaser displaying abundant amounts of smoked herbs, sweet black cherry and cassis fruit, licorice, espresso roast, chocolate, and toast. Full-bodied with superb concentration as well as a beautifully textured mouthfeel, this 2006 should drink well for 10-15+ years. Like all of the Neipperg estates, this wine's capsule has a clever anti-fraud device, which I think will be increasingly employed by many French estates.This nearly 30-acre estate, which was purchased several years ago by Stephan von Neipperg (owner of Canon La Gaffeliere and La Mondotte), performed exceptionally well in 2006.

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Feb 2015):  Altesino's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino stands proud among its peers. No other wine I tasted among the new releases in Montalcino achieves this unique level of aromatic finesse and distinction. The bouquet is almost purely floral in character with a strong emphasis on pressed rose petal, dried violets and potpourri. The fruit tones are less emphatic and include bright cherry and red currant. In the mouth, the wine's compressed texture is accented by fennel seed and licorice. the 2009 vintage had more power and heat, but this version shows elegant restraint. 93+ (ML)
