Chateau Fortia Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Cuvee de Baron 2015 WS92/WA92/JD92
Chateau Fortia Chateauneuf-du-pape Cuvee de Baron 2015
Château Fortia is not a winery that chases good press on a whim. These are consistent, classic wines that faithfully represent the region’s terroir year after year. The Cuvée du Baron, which combines 45% Syrah with 40% Grenache, and 15% Mourvedre, was created in the memory of the Domaine’s founder, Baron Le Roy de Boiseaumarie. The wine was first released in 2001.
The wine went through a long, cool fermentation in small lots by varietal, then aged 18 months in old oak foudres prior to bottling. Deep garnet-purple in colour, this is a wine with a dense, complex nose and notes of plum and cassis and garrigue on a medium-bodied palate.
92 pts Wine Spectator:
This has a solid, juicy core of bright cassis, cherry preserves and bergamot, backed by juicy and finely beaded acidity. Light floral incense and dried star anise notes flitter through the background. A light mineral edge guides the finish. Drink now through 2030.
92 pts Wine Advocate:
Cherries and spice mingle easily on the nose of the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Baron, a blend of 45% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 15% Mourvèdre matured in foudre. This full-bodied wine is rich and velvety in texture, with a long, lush, slightly warm finish. It should drink well for up to a decade.
92 pts Jeb Dunnuck :
The two 2015s start with the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée du Baron (no tradition cuvée was presented) and it's a blend of 45% Syrah, 40% Grenache and the rest Mourvèdre brought up all in foudre. Ripe black cherries, framboise, pepper, and garrigue all flow to a nicely balanced, tannic 2015 that has nicely integrated acidity and a solid finish. This is an old-school, classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape that's best forgotten for 3-4 years, and enjoyed over the following decade.

John Duval Plexus SGM 2014 Wine Spectator 2016 Top 100 rank 34
John Duval Plexus SGM 2014 #34 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2016 The Shiraz was sourced from old vineyards in the Tanunda, Krondorf and Ebenezer districts, Grenache from the Tanunda and Ebenezer region, and Mourvèdre from the Light Pass region. A true reflection of Barossa’s soil and climate, Plexus expresses complex aromas and flavors combining red and dark fruits with savory notes. The palate is framed by youthful fine tannins and subtle savory French oak adds structure and complexity. 93 Points Wine Spectator: "A sophisticated, spicy mix of date bread, cherry compote and clove flavors. Plump and velvety, with persistence and harmony on the finish. Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2026." 92 Points The Wine Advocate: "Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Plexus (a Shiraz, Grenache. Mourvèdre blend) is a little youthfully reticent, offering glimpses at black raspberry and mulberry aromas plus licorice, cracked black pepper, earth and lavender. Medium to full-bodied and still very primary in the mouth, it has a great intensity of red and black fruit flavors supported by ripe, rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy."
Fontalloro Felsina 2012 WA94/AG94/WE94/JS93/WS92
Fontalloro Felsina 2012
94 points Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, September 2015:
Dark red cherry, plum, cinnamon and crushed rock nuances flesh out in the 2012 Fontalloro. Next to most of the other wines in the lineup, the 2012 Fontalloro is floral, perfumed, fresh and vibrant, with gorgeous aromatic lift, silky tannins and lovely overall balance. Fontalloro often opens up before Rancia, as is the case today, but the 2012 also possesses more than enough depth to drink well for a number of years. Still, the sexy, radiant finish makes me think most bottles won't be around to make old bones. Put simply, the 2012 Fontalloro is an arrestingly beautiful, showy wine built to please. And please it does.
94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Oct 2015)
The 2012 Fontalloro (100% Sangiovese) is a stunning expression and delivers the high quality we have come to expect of this celebrated IGT Toscana wine in a less important vintage. Careful work has been done here to ensure the high quality of fruit. The Fontalloro vineyard is located on the border of the Chianti Classico and the Chianti Colli Senesi appellations. Many have called upon Fèlsina to change the wine's status to Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, but technically it can't be because of much of the vineyard is located outside the denomination limits. The bouquet is soft and rich with dark fruit and spice. In the mouth, Fontalloro reveals integrated tannins and acidity. (ML)
94 points Wine Enthusiast (Nov 2015):
Ripe plum, mature black cherry, violet, clove, mocha, anise and grilled sage are just some of the sensations you'll find on this gorgeous wine alongside velvety tannins. It already has great depth but hold for more complexity. Drink 2017-2027. *Cellar Selection* (KO)
Marquis de Calon 2011 三級莊 Calon Segur 副牌
Marquis de Calon 2011
三級莊 Calon Segur 副牌
產區：Saint Estephe, Bordeaux
92 points Wine Enthusiast : The second wine of Calon Segur, the 2011 Marquis de Calon reveals a dark ruby color as well as juicy black cherry aromas, an attractive texture and a soft style. It is a pleasant, light to medium-bodied effort to consume over the next 4-5 years.
Representing just 30% of production and with the majority of fruit sourced from low yielding merlot vines planted on drought resistant clay based soils. The ripe damson and fruitcake laden nose has a top note of dark chocolate whilst there is lively acidity and freshness to the front palate which is filled out with plump and fleshy plum fruit and a touch of spice. Tannins are fine grained and velvety in texture, the lasting impression is one of elegance, balance and refinement. Technical director Vincent Millet considers “2011 closer to 2010 than 2008 in terms of quality”.
Chateau La Tour Martillac 2014 WE95/JS93/RP91/WS91/JR17
91pts Robert Parker:
The 2014 Latour-Martillac has an attractive bouquet with intense blackberry, briary, warm gravel and balsamic notes that are very well defined and evoke Pessac-Léognan through and through. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe tannin. It feels gentle in the mouth, not structured but fleshy and full, fanning out with crushed strawberry, red cherry and white pepper towards the satisfying finish. This is early drinking compared to its peers, yet well crafted. Could it have striven for more? Yes, probably.
Clarendon Hills Romas Grenache 2007 (WS93,WA91)
Clarendon Hills Romas Grenache 2007
93 points Wine Spectator: Firm, slightly gritty in texture, giving way to pure, focused black currant, plum and spice flavors. Weaves in a touch of tar on the long, expressive finish.
91 points Wine Advocate: The 2007 Romas Vineyard Grenache has a medium garnet-purple color and moderately intense dried cherry and mulberry aromas with some spicy fruits of the forest compote and dark chocolate notes. Crisp, concentrated and very spicy on the palate, it offers a medium level of chewy tannins and a long opulent finish.
91 points Wine Enthusiast: The rare Australian Grenache you might consider cellaring for more than a couple of years, the 2007 Romas features dark, plummy fruit accented with hints of coffee and chocolate. It’s full bodied and richly textured without being overly astringent, with a long finish. Drink 2012–2020.
ABOUT THIS VINEYARD: The Romas Grenache site is located in Blewitt Springs and was planted in 1920. The 'Romas Grenache' is the steepest, most elevated section of the Blewitt Springs Grenache vineyard. its uniquely special characters warrant its isolation and quarantine from the lower part of the Blewitt Springs vineyard. This patch sits at 280 metres above sea level and is approximately 7 Kms to the ocean. It enjoys a perfect due East aspect on a hillside that in some places reaches above a +40˚ slope gradient. The old vines struggle to survive on a steep rock hill face with yields a microscopic 0.5 tonne / acre. Each of the Blewitt Springs, Romas and Onkaparinga Grenache sites are planted on the same hill side. The Blewitt Springs and Romas patches are due East facing and the Onkaparinga site is at the uppermost hilltop/crown area but is western facing. All sites are within 200 metres of each other and offering special and individual expressions. These vineyards are globally unique - the unparalleled combination of 95+ year old, pre phylloxera vines planted in the oldest geology planet earth - surveyed at 1600 million years old ;produces rare and exotic exhibitions of Grenache, not seen anywhere else in the world. Underneath these old vines are primordial, ancient formations. There is a complete lack in nitrogenous matter available for plants/vines seeking nutrient and this results in extremely limited growth capabilities (Romas vines are approx 30 cm tall and each site produces less than 1 tonne / acre. The environment has effectively reduced the output potential of these vines. The rich and ancient minerals present in the root zone of these special 95+ year old vines also impart rare physiological components to the vines and excellent grapes are a result.
Chateau Lafleur-Gazin 2001 (vivino4.0)
Chateau Lafleur-Gazin 2000
Pomerol, Bordeaux , France
88 pts Wine Advocate:
"A sweet, superficial, but attractive effort, the 2000 La Fleur-Gazin reveals chalky tannin in the finish. A dark ruby/purple color is accompanied by ripe plum, prune, and berry fruit, medium body, and plenty of structure as well as tough tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2014."
Cotes du Ventoux Artemia, Chateau Pesquie 2010 (WA93)
Cotes du Ventoux Artemia, Chateau Pesquie 2010
品種： 50% Grenache, 50% Syrah
93 Points Wine Advocate 2014:
The top cuvee from one of the benchmark estates in the Ventoux, the 2010 Cotes du Ventoux Artemia is a blend of equal parts Grenache and Syrah, with the Grenache coming from 80+-year-old vines and the Syrah from 50+-year-old vines. Aged 18 months in barrel, it offers a deep, rich and layered profile of blackberry, licorice, underbrush and ground herbs. Showing more chocolaty nuances with air, it's a serious, medium to full-bodied wine that has beautiful balance, a great mid-palate and fantastic length. Give it another year or two, and enjoy it over the following decade.
Carpineta Fontalpino Chianti Classico 2013
La Magia Rosso di Montalcino 2014
La Magia Rosso di Montalcino 2014
Produced from the same grapes as our Brunello, but with a different vinification process and aged for only six months in ‘third use’ casks, this youthful wine possesses personality in abundance, typified by lively fruit and a fresh appeal that makes it suitable for all occasions, formal and informal.
Chateau Rouget Pomerol 2005 WS92/WA90/vivino4.3(105酒評）
Chateau Rouget 2005
Region: Pomerol, Bordeaux, France
92 pts Wine Spectator:
There's beautiful aromas of violet and other flowers, with fruity undertones. Full-bodied, with round, polished tannins that caress the palate. Long and very balanced. Harmonious. Best after 2012. 2,915 cases made.
90 pts Wine Advocate:
The Burgundy firm of Jacques Prieur, who now owns this Pomerol estate, has fashioned an outstanding 2005 from one of the less prestigious terroirs of the appellation. It is a richly fruit, exuberant, flamboyant wine offering a sensual display of black cherries, sandy, loamy soil, subtle herbs, and spice. Lusciously textured with no astringency, it can be consumed now and over the next 10-12 years.
Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino Pelagrilli 2012 (JS95)
Siro Pacanti Brunello di Montalcino Pelagrilli 2012
95 Points James Suckling: So much violet, licorice and berry character to this. Wonderful depth. Full body, dusty and chewy tannins and a persistent and intense finish. Layered mouthfeel. Drink in 2020.
92 Points Antonio Galloni: Deep red with ruby tinges. Delicately flinty and herbal notes complicate sour red cherry, redcurrant and underbrush aromas. Fresh and juicy but with an almost austere quality to the crisp red berry and minty plum flavors. Finishes long and clean with a mineral nuance. The herbal note disapperars with aeration, so it’s of paramount importance to give this wine plenty of air. Pacenti makes 20,000 bottles a year of this Brunello from 25 to 35 year old vines with roughly 75-80% of the grapes grown in the northern Pellagrilli estate vineyards and the rest from the Piancornello vineyards in the southern reaches Montalcino.
92 Points The Wine Advocate : Boasting contemporary lines and a generously extracted style, the 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Pelagrilli delivers an approach that will appeal to a wider circle of consumers, far outside hardcore Brunello enthusiasts. The bouquet peels off slowly with rich intensity and dark fruit notes of black cherry, plum, soft spice, tobacco and licorice. You don't get any of the bitter or thorny acidity that can sometimes make Brunello difficult to love, especially in its youth. This wine is appropriate for near or medium-term drinking.
91 Points Wine Enthusiast: This opens with dry underbrush, sun-baked soil and French oak aromas. The palate is equally brooding, its dried black cherry and blackberry fruit brushed with licorice and espresso flavors. Assertive, close-grained tannins leave a firm finish. Drink 2020–2027.
Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino 2007 WE95/WA93
Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino 2007
95 points Wine Enthusiast:
This 2007 Brunello is a big, opulent pleasure bomb with lavish layers, loaded thickly on top of each other: Chocolate fudge, dark cherry, blackberry preserves, rum cake, prune, exotic spice, pipe tobacco, cola, hummus and leather. It shows huge personality, intensity and staying power too. All that density is backed by solid tannins and a steady firmness. Hold 10–15 more years. Editors' Choice
93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino bursts from the glass with freshly cut flowers, violets, leather, licorice and black cherries. Firm underlying tannins lend vibrancy to the voluptuous fruit. The Casanova di Neri straight bottling – sometimes referred to as the “white label” – is made from some of the estate’s cooler sites. In 2007 the wine has more depth, fruit and overall harmony than is typically the case. Bright acidity frames the long, polished finish. In short, this is a fabulous wine from Giacomo Neri. Along with the 2006, the 2007 is one the best and most complete vintages I can remember tasting in some time. Most importantly of all, though, it is flat-out delicious. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027.
John Duval Entity Shiraz 2014
John Duval Entity Shiraz 2014
前奔富首席釀酒師 John Duval rose to winemaking fame as the craftsman of the mighty Penfolds Grange, before going it alone to further forge his reputation as a maker of great Shiraz. The aim of The Entity is to produce a wine true to the region. Rich and complex it shows ripe, spicy fruit characters with a complex savoury oak influence framed by fine lingering tannins.
品種：100 % Shiraz, sourced from old vineyards in the Krondorf, Eden Valley and Marananga regions.
熟成：100% barrel matured for 15 months, with 35% new fine grain French oak hogsheads (300 litres) and the balance in 2, 3 and 4 year old hogsheads
Winemaker : Dark fruit expression of blackberry and plum, gives way to some lifted floral notes and savoury, spicy French oak. Full bodied and generous with excellent concentration of blackberry fruit. Textured layers of fruit, balanced acidity and fine, long tannins will enable good cellaring potential.
96 Points James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion - "From old vineyards in Krondorf, Marananga and Eden Valley, open-fermented with submerged cap (header board), matured for 15 months in French oak (35% new). Succulent, rich and powerful, with predominantly black fruits and some spice. The hallmarks are its supple mouthfeel and effortless balance."
93 Points Wine Enthusiast - "Dark berry and plum fruit dominates, but hints of mint, vanilla and cedar add interest. Somewhere between silky and velvety, this full-bodied, richly textured Shiraz finishes long and appears to have the tannic structure to age well, though it's delicious now.

Chateau Moulin Riche 2011 波爾多二級莊副牌
Chateau Moulin Riche 2012
產區 : Saint Julien, Bordeaux
品種 : 69% Cab Sau, 20% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc
Owned and managed by the team at Léoville Poyferré, Moulin Riche always offers excellent value for money and seems likely to do so again in this vintage. Immediately fresh and vibrant, this is a very pure style. With dark berry fruit, some smoky character and crushed stone structure to the tannins and a vein of acidity that gives this an almost-linear tautness, this is quite a grown-up wine in this vintage.
Chateau Kirwan 2006 波爾多3級莊 WE91/WS90
Chateau Kirwan 2006 波爾多3級莊
91 pts Wine Enthusiast:
The new wood flavors on this wine are becoming well integrated with the velvet fruit textures. The tannins are now an adjunct to the fruit, which shows fresh spice and sweetness. It is becoming a fine, balanced wine, delicate and perfumed.
90 pts Wine Spectator:
There's lovely fruit in this wine, with berry, chocolate and plum aromas and flavors. Medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish. A very balanced Kirwan. Best from 2011 through 2016. 7,080 cases made.
Crozes Hermitage Thalabert, Paul Jaboulet Ainé 2011
Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert, Paul Jaboulet Ainé 2010
產區：Crozes Hermitage, Northern Rhone
Robert Parker 93 pts:
The 2010 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert, which I raved about last year, is slightly better than their brilliant 2009. It boasts a dense purple color along with a beautiful perfume of camphor, licorice, forest floor, black currants and Christmas fruitcake. With tremendous intensity, full body and supple tannins, it should drink well for 10-15 years, perhaps longer where well-stored. This cuvee is always one of the best buys in the Northern Rhone.
Caiarossa Pergolaia Toscana IGT 2008 WS92
Blend: 85% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Spectator 92pt
Very alluring for its balsamic, wild herb, sour cherry and raspberry flavors, this is well-proportioned, offering a muscular structure to provide support. Shows fine length, with a wild berry aftertaste. Drink now through 2020.
Castello di Ama Chianti Classico San Lorenzo 2011 JS96/WE93/WS92/WA91
Castello di Ama Chianti Classico San Lorenzo 2011
96 points James Suckling:
This has a dusty character on the nose with soil, dried fruit and blueberry. Flowers too. Full body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. Tight and structured. Shows wonderful depth of fruit and beauty. Chewy. Better in 2016.
93 points Wine Enthusiast:
Elegant and structured, this offers aromas that suggest sunbaked earth, ripe woodland berry, chopped mint and a whiff of new leather. The taut, polished palate offers juicy black cherry, ripe raspberry, orange peel, anise and grilled herb alongside austere, fine-grained tannins that give it a firm finish. Drink 2018–2023.
92 points Wine Spectator:
Broad and intense, exhibiting floral, cherry, rhubarb, leather and almond notes. Well-knit and vibrant, with a compact finish. Should stretch out nicely. Best from 2016 through 2026.
91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
The 2011 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione San Lorenzo is loaded tight with ripe fruit nuances of strawberry, black fruit and prune. San Lorenzo shows a riper, jammy quality of fruit next to Vigneto Bellavista. But, like that other Gran Selezione expression, this wine excels in terms of mouthfeel with polished tannins and a great sense of energy and momentum.
Chateau Malartic Lagraviere 2006 (WE92, RP90)
Chateau Malartic Lagraviere 2006
Blend: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc
92 points Wine Enthusiast:
An evocatively perfumed wine, with aromas of pine, eucalyptus and spice. To taste, it is open, generous, its tannins cushioned inside ripe, jelly black fruits. Everything mingles well, the core of dryness an essential component of the richness of the wine.
90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
Proprietor Alexandre Bonnie has produced brilliant white and red wines at this estate's NASA space age-looking winemaking facility. I remember these wines from the early days of The Wine Advocate, and they were undrinkable swill. That is certainly not the case today. This is classic Pessac-Leognan with leafy tobacco, smoky red and black currant, forest floor, cedar, and graphite notes. It is a medium-bodied wine of impeccable purity, texture, and balance.
Chateau La Croix de Gay Pomerol 2009 WE93/WA90/vivino4.1(208酒評)
Chateau La Croix de Gay Pomerol 2009
Region: Pomerol, Bordeaux, France
93 pts Wine Enthusiast:
Powerful tannins give this wine its dense, concentrated character. It is dark and dense, very dry at this stage and needing at least 10 years to round itself out. However, the presence of fruit promises a good future.
90 pts Wine Advocate:
A blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc from this well-situated vineyard on the plateau of Pomerol, which is owned by Chantal Lebreton, this wine has 13.5% alcohol, somewhat low in this vintage, but it displays plenty of kirsch, sweet cherries and red currants along with some sandy/loamy soil and roasted herb notes in a very sexy, up-front, lush, medium to full-bodied style.
Clos de l'Oratoire 2006 波爾多右岸列級
Clos de l'Oratoire 2006
分級：Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe
產區： Saint Emilion, Bordeaux
品種：90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc
91 Points Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (181), February 2009:
blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, it is a surprisingly opulent, flamboyant, fleshy, soft crowd-pleaser displaying abundant amounts of smoked herbs, sweet black cherry and cassis fruit, licorice, espresso roast, chocolate, and toast. Full-bodied with superb concentration as well as a beautifully textured mouthfeel, this 2006 should drink well for 10-15+ years. Like all of the Neipperg estates, this wine's capsule has a clever anti-fraud device, which I think will be increasingly employed by many French estates. This nearly 30-acre estate, which was purchased several years ago by Stephan von Neipperg (owner of Canon La Gaffeliere and La Mondotte), performed exceptionally well in 2006.
91 Points Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar, May 2009:
Full ruby-red. Inky blackberry, black cherry, licorice and minerals on the nose. Sweet and densely packed, with a lush texture but also good enlivening minerality to the blueberry and dark chocolate flavors. Seamless and vinous Saint-Emilion, finishing with very suave tannins and noteworthy length and energy. An outperformer in 2006.
Barbaresco Vigneto Brich Ronchi, Rocca Albino 1996 WS95/ST94/RP93
Barbaresco Vigneto Brich Ronchi, Rocca Albino 1996
95 points Wine Spectator (2007):
Shows fabulous aromas of crushed berries and fresh flowers. Full-bodied, with a powerful palate of fabulous fruit and ripe tannins. Goes on and on. Still a baby. This is superb.--1996 Piedmont retrospective. Best after 2010. (JS, Web-2007)
94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Nov 1998):
Even deeper red ruby color. Pungently spicy, penetrating aromas of rose petal, violet and red berries. Thick, intensely flavored and sharply delineated, with strong acidity and plenty of buffering extract. This has superb material and outstanding grip and persistence. Firm tannins are in perfect balance with the wine fruit. Wow! This is aged in all new barriques, but I never would have guessed it. 94+ (ST)
93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Aug 1999):
The large-scaled as well as compelling 1996 Barbaresco Vigneto Brich Ronchi reveals spectacular aromas of intense chocolate-covered cherry candy intermixed with smoky new wood. It is dense and full-bodied, with layers of concentration and glycerin. This superb, mouth-filling Barbaresco can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15 years.
Emilio Moro, Emilio Moro 2014
Emilio Moro, Emilio Moro 2014
產區： Ribera del Duero, Spain
品種： 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino)
90 Points Wine Spectator - "Black cherry, licorice, espresso and loamy earth flavors mingle in this solid red. Firm tannins and fresh acidity impart structure. Shows lively fruit for balance. Drink now through 2024. "
90 Points Wine Advocate - "The 2014 Emilio Moro was produced with grapes from vineyards ranging between 12 and 25 years old, fermented with yeasts selected from their own vineyards in stainless steel vats, and aged in 50/50 French and American oak barrels (one-third new) for one year. There are some faint toasty notes denoting a very young wine, but in general it's very fruit-driven and quite harmonious. Time in bottle has polished it and given it a sleek texture and nicely integrated oak. Very approachable and ready. "

Morey st Denis En La Rue de Vergy, Lignier Michelot 2014
89-91 Points Burghound.com January 2016:
This vineyard holding sits directly above Grand cru Clos de Tart quite high on the slope bordering Bonnes Mares on the southern Chambolle-Musigny border and Clos des Lambrays on the northern border. The resulting wine shows remarkable energy and dimension. A stunning village wine. “(30% whole cluster). Here there is a menthol note sitting atop the slightly riper yet cool aromas of cassis, violet and plum. The palate impression of the medium-bodied flavors isn’t quite as concentrated but it is finer with really lovely delineation to the mineral -inflected, balanced and lingering finish. Recommended.
About Lignier Michelot:
The Lignier family have deep roots in the village of Morey Saint Denis and own some of the very best vineyard sites in this village, and also in the 2 neighbouring villages Chambolle Musigny and Gevrey Chambertin. Virgile’s father and grand-father had always produced wine and sold it to negotiants until Virgile started working with his father in the early 1990’s and he decided to sell the wines himself. Now with almost 20 vintages of experience Virgile has moved the domaine to fully organic viticulture and is producing what many believe to be the best wines of this prestigious village.
In the last few vintages Virgile has modified his winemaking using whole-bunch vinification ranging from 30-100% depending on the vintage and the vineyard and he has also reduced the percentage of new oak for maturation with most wines seeing around 30% making its effect seamless in the final wines. He has also just completed a new winery that now enables him to work with temperature control and to gain a very gentle extraction of tannins for all his wines. This results in wines showing great energy with remarkable perfume and also beautiful fine tannins and very silky structure. They are wines which are often very seductive at a young age which also clearly have the potential for ageing superbly. This very young domaine is now regarded a mong the very best in the Cotes de Nuits.
