#32 of Wine Spectator Top 100 @ year 2015 & Wine Spectator 91 pts

產區:Alto Maipo, Chile 品種:94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Carmenere & 3% Petite Verdot Wine Spectator 91 pts- "A rich, well-spiced red, with luscious flavors of tar, licorice and dark plum, supported by ample acidity and firm tannins. Offers a lip-smacking finish of dark chocolate and pepper. Drink now through 2019. Top Value Pick" The grapes come from old vineyards planted in the alluvial terraces of the Alto Maipo, extremely concentrated, and were handpicked. Sebastian Labbe, chief winemaker at Viña Carmen says that this wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. “It has an intense and deep ruby red color. The nose has aromas of currants, blackberries, sweet licorice and cedar notes that become soft and elegant. The palate is generous and rich yet fresh and vibrant again. The wine has plenty of fruit and firm tannins that give structure and depth”.

Clarendon Hills Hickinbotham Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 (RP92)

Hong Kong Price 價錢:
HK$280
Australia, Mclaren Vale
HK$280HK$240

Clarendon Hills Hickinbotham Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

** This wine forms part of Clarendon Hills’ ‘Grand-Cru’ classification.

92+ points Robert Parker: The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Hickinbotham offers the most saturated color. The aromatics feature Asian spices, violets, and incense along with expressive black fruits. Structured and tannic, bordering on austere on the palate, it is a muscular, brawny effort that will require 6-8 years of cellaring to become approachable.

94 points Vinous : Opaque ruby. Powerful aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, smoky minerals, lavender and Indian spices. Deeply concentrated, palate-staining dark berry and bitter cherry flavors are framed by chewy tannins and pick up strong spice and floral notes with air. Still quite young but already expressive, finishing with lingering notes of sweet dark berries and candied flowers.

Glaetzer Godolphin 2005 (JH95, RP93)

Hong Kong Price 價錢:
HK$410
Australia, Barossa Valley
HK$410HK$360

Glaetzer Godolphin 2005

95 points James Halliday (April 2011) :Deep purple-red; achieves lusciousness, length and intensity of flavour without resorting to excessive alcohol; great balance and mouthfeel; very good length and equally well-balanced oak.

93 points Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate:

"The 2005 Godolphin, a blend of 80% Shiraz (from 85-year-old vines) and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon (from 60-year-old vines), was aged in 100% new oak, primarily 300-liter French hogsheads. It represents a beautiful marriage of power and elegance, displaying an inky/blue/purple color as well as notions of black raspberries, blueberries, graphite, and sweet pain grille. Ripe, pure, and medium to full-bodied with sweet but noticeable tannin, it can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15 years."

94 points Wine Enthusiast (Nov 2007):

A blend of 80% Shiraz and 20% Cabernet, this rich, almost Port-like wine also shows a slight herbal note - enough to give it some lift and complexity. It’s inky black in color, imbued with layers of dark fruit so deep they threaten to suck you in before being lightened ever so slightly by hints of vanilla and spice. Long and lush on the finish. Le Volte dell' Ornellaia 2013

品種:50% Merlot, 30% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon

92 Points James Suckling - "A young red with solid tannin power and plenty of ripe and flavorful fruit. Currants and ripe strawberries. Full body, and a fresh finish, although this is a little austere and hard now. Try in 2017 as tannins soften."

90 Points Wine Spectator - "Dark flavors of black cherry and blackberry pick up a pleasant leafy edge as this juicy red stretches out on the finish. Needs time to integrate, with a long aftertaste of fruit and mineral. Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2018 through 2026. "

HK$410HK$370

Like all the '13 Penfolds red releases, has very good colour, and unquestioned varietal character from the first whiff through to the finish and aftertaste. It has elegance, balance and a restrained medium bodied persona. It fully reflects the long arm Penfolds has with its fruit sourcing.

HK$350HK$300

Vilafonte series M 2013

Region:  Stellenbosch, South Africa

The Wine Advocate : 91 points

Tasting Note: “Kirsch, black cherry, dark chocolate and cassis all abouund on the nose and palate. This is enticing and very plush with a good cherry and damson fruit core. Granular with ripe tannins and although there is clearly high levels of glycerol and sweetness of fruit it is all managed and held in check. The dollop Malbec gives a black pepper and spicey edge to the wine, the Merolt giving weight and roundness and the Cabernet Sauvignon keeping the structure”.

Series M takes its name from the Malbec and Merlot which predominantly define the style of this wine. Series M is sensuous wine with a firm core structure for aging. Malbec provides its black fruit aromas and fleshy texture, Merlot adds softness and red fruit aromas, and Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure.
