An outstanding effort, Branaire's 2007 exhibits floral-infused black raspberry, boysenberry, and mulberry notes as well as a decidedly blue fruit character. Attractive, elegant, and medium to full-bodied with beautiful fruit, density, and texture, it should drink well for 10-12 years. Drink 2010-2022.
如果你搭國泰航空的頭等艙，將有機會飲到一款名叫“周伯通”既法國紅酒。 “周伯通”來自波爾多聖茱利安產區的四級酒莊，國泰航空2006年3月3日係香港舉行中文命名儀式，宣布以金庸先生著名武俠小說《射雕英雄傳》入面既小說人物“周伯通”作為Chateau Branaire-Ducru的中文名，武功超脫，性格樂天，喜愛逍遙自在，正好表現出呢支佳釀之獨特氣派。黑莓黑櫻桃，奶油，香草，菌類，辛香料，木桶。酒體中等偏厚，單寧順滑，優雅，回味較長。
唔講唔知，係寸土寸金既saint-Julien 村入面，周伯通酒莊俾最多名莊環抱，包括二級莊寶嘉龍Ducru Beaucaillou, 金玫瑰Gruaud Larose, 四級莊 龍船Beychevelle, 百花齊放，但不失個性，得到頗多飲家追捧。

It is elegant, well-made and an outstanding effort in this vintage. Drink it over the next 15 or more years. "

An excellent effort, the 2011 Gloria continues the success this well-known property has enjoyed over the last several decades. A delicious concoction of red and black fruits, spice box, and earth as well as a silky textured, medium-bodied style emerge from this is an undeniable sleeper of the vintage. The round tannins, delicious fruit and forward character suggest it should be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years.

"It has a light but well defined bouquet with notes of redcurrant, boysenberry, mint leaf and cedar with good intensity and vigour. It reminds more of Las-Cases ’81 in some ways. The palate is medium-bodied with a dry, quite savoury entry, powdery and slightly edgy tannins. The fruit appears to be fading although the secondary flavours and compensating with touches of Chinese 5-spice, orange zest, dried blood and sandalwood. Classic old skool St-Julien towards the finish that has moderate length."

Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. The Chateau Lalande Borie 2010 has quite a herbaceous, tertiary bouquet that is broody and introspective. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation and poise, fine tannins and a composed, tobacco-infused finish that fans out nicely. This is very fine. Tasted January 2014.

This Clos du Marquis 2008 is a pretty and classic Bordeaux wine, it has attractive notes of minerals intermixed with fruitcake and sweet currant fruit. Medium-bodied and pure, with a dense ruby/purple color, it should drink nicely for 10 years at the very minimum.

This is one of the best second wines of the Medoc. Over the years it has profited from all the care given to the vineyard and the increasingly severe selections. Like its elder, this is a classic, elegant wine, with a clear, well-designed structure and a long, fresh final.

The 2011 Ducru Beaucaillou (which normally represents 1/3 to ½ of the entire crop) possesses a dense ruby/purple color along with a beautiful nose of sweet creme de cassis, crushed rock and spring flower aromas. This rich, medium to full-bodied St.-Julien is among the most concentrated wines of the Medoc. Moderate tannin is sweet and well-integrated. This beauty will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and keep for two decades. Drink 2017 - 2037.

This isn't quite as good as the 2010 and 2009 Ducrus, but it's not far behind: a concentrated, yet very polished St Julien from the lowest yields ever at the château. Sweet and intense, with hauntingly floral aromas, notes of cassis, plums and currant, fresh acidity and rich, yet silky tannins leading to a bright, refreshing finish. Powerful yet restrained, this is a keeper. 15+ years.

Clean and bright in the mouth, with taut blackcurrant and dark cherry flavors picking up sweetness with air. I like this wine's understated character, but I wish it had a little more flesh and sweetness for an even higher score."

The selection process under proprietor Bruno Borie is so severe at Ducru Beaucaillou that readers should be giving serious attention to the second wine, Croix de Beaucaillou, which sports a dramatic black and gold label. The 2011 exhibits attractive black currant and black cherry fruit, medium body, silky tannins and a lush, round, up-front appeal. Enjoy it over the next decade.

89 Points Wine Spectator : Ripe and smoky, featuring a bacony edge weaving in and out of notes of espresso, mulled currant, braised fig and bittersweet cocoa. This is still tight on the finish, with a dusty edge holding sway.
2nd wine of 2nd growth Chateau Gruaud Larose. Sarget de Gruaud Larose shows all the hallmarks of the great St-Julien wine, but with a fruitiness that makes it more approachable when young. The 2008 is nevertheless a robust wine, with both ripeness and a savoury edge, with a cocoa bitterness, notes of woodsmoke and textural tannins. Drink now or keep until 2018.
