評分: 89 points Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 2014-10-31 A juicy, forward and textured example of this cuvee (especially when tasted next to the 2013), the 2012 Coudoulet de Beucastel Côtes du Rhône has juicy blueberry, garrigue and lavender notes to go with a fleshy, medium to full-bodied feel on the palate. Soft, with low acidity and a hard-to-resist feel, it has just enough tannic grip to keep it years.

90-92 points Josh Raynolds, International Wine Cellar Youthful purple. Spicy, highly perfumed dark berry and Indian spice scents show very good clarity and pick up a smoky nuance with air. Densely packed but lithe too, with juicy black and blue fruit flavors and a touch of lavender adding lift. Dusty tannins shape the finish, which clings with impressive tenacity and subtle spiciness. According to Marc Perrin, the vines that provide the fruit for this wine are now over 80 years old.

Winemaker notes: We didn't release Valbelle in 2008 because the wine had been blended into the Gigondas Classique. This is nice to see Valbelle coming back in 2009 with its very specific style. It generates complexity, depth and balance. 2009 Valbelle combines well the tannic power of the vintage with the roundness and the softness always found in Valbelle. Find notes of strawberry, thyme, white pepper and graphite.

90 points The Wine Advocate: The 2013 Cotes du Rhone Les Deux Albions is 50-60% Syrah and the rest Grenache and other permitted varieties. It exhibits classic Syrah character with its sweet dark fruits, pepper, wood smoke and crushed rock-like minerality. Medium to full-bodied, it bucks the vintage stereotype and has a rounded, supple texture, good concentration and plenty of length. Possibly outstanding, it should have a decade of longevity. 

Winemaker Notes: Co-fermented in concrete vats as usual, it develops a good density, good color and a length that is usual of a great vintage. 80% of the cuvée was aged in concrete vats, which help to create the best expression. Its fruit full of terroir develops and shows characteristics of gingerbread, strawberries and violets.

This well-made white blend from Chateauneuf du Pape is almost clear in the glass. It opens with a floral rose and apple like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a mineral infused Anjou pear with hints of green apple, white pepper and a touch of lime. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. It would pair this wine with stuffed mushrooms and open an evening gathering with it.

Château Fortia is not a winery that chases good press on a whim. These are consistent, classic wines that faithfully represent the region’s terroir year after year. The Cuvée du Baron, which combines 45% Syrah with 40% Grenache, and 15% Mourvedre, was created in the memory of the Domaine’s founder, Baron Le Roy de Boiseaumarie. The wine was first released in 2001.

The wine went through a long, cool fermentation in small lots by varietal, then aged 18 months in old oak foudres prior to bottling. Deep garnet-purple in colour, this is a wine with a dense, complex nose and notes of plum and cassis and garrigue on a medium-bodied palate.

This has a solid, juicy core of bright cassis, cherry preserves and bergamot, backed by juicy and finely beaded acidity. Light floral incense and dried star anise notes flitter through the background. A light mineral edge guides the finish. Drink now through 2030.

Cherries and spice mingle easily on the nose of the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Baron, a blend of 45% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 15% Mourvèdre matured in foudre. This full-bodied wine is rich and velvety in texture, with a long, lush, slightly warm finish. It should drink well for up to a decade.

The two 2015s start with the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée du Baron (no tradition cuvée was presented) and it's a blend of 45% Syrah, 40% Grenache and the rest Mourvèdre brought up all in foudre. Ripe black cherries, framboise, pepper, and garrigue all flow to a nicely balanced, tannic 2015 that has nicely integrated acidity and a solid finish. This is an old-school, classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape that's best forgotten for 3-4 years, and enjoyed over the following decade.

There's a lot going on here, with a big core of yellow apple, white peach and wet straw notes offset by accents of citrus oil and bitter almond. A hint of brioche shows on the finish, but this is decidedly stony in feel at the end. The elements should meld beautifully with cellaring. Best from 2016 through 2026.

The 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc incorporates slightly less Grenache Blanc than normal and has more Bourboulenc and Picpoul in the blend. As always, it didn’t go through malolactic fermentation and was raised all in stainless steel. Hitting 13.6% natural alcohol, its medium-gold color is followed by lots of apple, lemon curd and citrus-like fruit characteristics that give way to more spice, toast and minerality with time in the glass. Vibrant, fresh and borderline racy, while not being lean, it’s an outstanding white that will benefit from a year in bottle and have a graceful evolution for another decade or more. As I commented in my recent retrospective article, Clos des Pape is one of the reference point estates for traditional, age-worthy Châteauneuf du Pape.

With tremendous intensity, full body and supple tannins, it should drink well for 10-15 years, perhaps longer where well-stored. This cuvee is always one of the best buys in the Northern Rhone.

It is an appellation with tremendous potential, and a number of Chateauneuf du Pape estates are buying up vineyards in the appellation. The 2009 Lirac Cuvee de la Reine des Bois is another star from Christophe Delorme. Loads of kirsch, black currant and crushed rock notes along with a hint of spring flowers are all present in this dense purple, medium to full-bodied, delicious wine, which should drink nicely for 7-8 years."

 WS 91 (Jun 2011): "Ripe but very pure, exhibiting a beautiful mix of damson plum, linzer torte and blackberry fruit all laced with alluring notes of black tea and iron. This is supple on the finish, but with latent length. Should be a good, short-term ager. Seems less reliant on flashy toast than previous vintages. Drink now through 2012."

More serious and endowed with more muscle and richness is the 2011 Perrin Vinsobres Les Cornuds. This wine comes from the very cool northern sector of the Cotes du Rhône appellation, which is a treasure trove for Syrah. The Perrins vinify the Syrah in truncated tanks and then age it in barrel, while the Grenache is fermented and aged in stainless steel, with blending taking place after six months. This beautiful 2011 displays plenty of black cherry fruit and lavender as well as hints of blackberry, licorice and graphite. Medium-bodied, richly fruity and offering loads of perfume, this is a wine to drink over the next several years.

We really like the terroir of Vinsobres, a beautiful village located near Vaison la Romaine; The vineyard is at an altitude of 300m and is situated for the most part on terraces. Vinsobres is particularly suitable for Syrah because it preserves the finesse which is often lost in more southern climates. It develops notes of violet, smoked meat and blackberries. Grenache is also suited to this terroir, full bodied and not heavy, with notes of black chocolate, cherry and typical Garrigue aromas.

91 Points Wine Advocate: Traditionally brought up with no concessions to modern winemaking, although it exhibits a touch of vanillin, indicating that some of the Syrah may have been aged in new oak, it is a youthful black/purple-colored wine with elegance, dense, full-bodied power, blackberry, cassis, kirsch and loamy soil notes intermixed with lavender and spice box. This superb, beautifully textured, pure, slightly structured Vacqueyras will benefit from 1-2 years of cellaring, and keep for 10-12 years.
