Chateau Cantemerle 1999

Winemaker's Notes : In accordance with the Cordier and now the winemaking philosophy of Philippe Dambrine, the style of Cantemerle has changed, beginning with the 1981 vintage. The color of the wine has darkened and the wine has taken on an extra richness and measure of fruit. It has exquisite flavors and it is rare to find fruit flavors of such refinement.

Rich, This Chateau Belgrave has ripe plum and blackcurrant on the nose infused with tobacco. Juicy mature black fruits on the palate with a heavy oaky flavour which lingers in the mouth with impressive length and elegance that persists. Blackcurrant and tobacco flavours develop and mellow into a truly delicious aftertaste

Chateau Belgrave 2010

91 Points Wine Spectator:  Ripe and fleshy, with lots of roasted vanilla bean and fresh espresso, followed by dark, winey cassis and blackberry fruit. An intense licorice edge and a solid, tarry finish imparts drive. Best from 2014 through 2023.

As Belgrave improves each year, it reveals a character that is close to the elegance and style of Saint-Julien, right next door. Chateau Belgrave is situated in Haut Medoc , just west of Beychevelle in St Julien . It is also next door to Chateau Lagrange , which is also in St. Julien. Just a few meters further and it could have been in St. Julien. This 2010, while dense, is balanced, and its rich blackberry flavor is already integrating into its firm tannins. This should age well for the medium term.

品種:52% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc

Wine Enthusiast 91-93 : "Barrel sample. A big, firm and hard wine, with solid fruits, layers of dry tannin and great power. There's an intensity to this wine with acidity adding to the complexity and structure." (06/06)

RP91: An elegant, successful 2011, Cantemerle has produced a finesse-styled wine with a dense ruby/purple color as well as copious notes of flowers, mulberries, raspberries and blueberries. With dramatic quality and purity, this medium-bodied effort possesses sweet tannins and a texture that builds incrementally. A lighter-styled, but beautifully crafted, well done 2011, it can be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years.

Chateau La Tour Carnet 2006

產區:Haut Medoc

50%Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv.,

91 points Wine Advocate - "A fabulous sleeper of the vintage, this estate, which has made a succession of brilliant wines under the administration of Bordeaux's visionary Bernard Magrez, has turned out another terrific effort. A blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this wine exhibits a sensational smorgasbord of aromas ranging from red and black fruits to toasty oak to licorice, high quality cigar tobacco, and spice box. Flavorful and full-bodied, with rich fruit, moderate but sweet tannin, and a long, pure finish, this is a dazzling effort in 2006 that should hit its adolescent stage in about 4-5 years and last for two decades. Excellent value"

90 points Wine Spectator - "A rich, dark red, with cooked plum and licorice aromas. Full-bodied and long, with lots of fruit and velvety tannins. Impressive for the vintage. Best after 2012. 21,870 cases made."

Château La Tour Carnet dates back to the 12th century and is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc region. The medieval architecture features a tower built in 1120 and the château is surrounded by a moat. La Tour Carnet has had several illustrious owners, including the family of Michel de Montaigne, one of the greatest French philosophers and twice-elected Mayor of Bordeaux. The vineyard of Château La Tour Carnet was planted there in 1407.

Chateau La Tour Carnet 2011

57% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot

90 Points The Wine Advocate:

From Bordeaux visionary Bernard Magrez, this blend of 57% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot comes from one of the most ancient fortified chateaux of the Medoc (constructed in 1120 A.D.). Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by hints of graphite, black currants, spice box and charcoal. This medium-bodied 2011 reveals excellent to outstanding concentration, sweet tannin and a long finish. A sleeper of the vintage, it is a beautiful effort from this challenging vintage. Moreover, it will evolve for 15 or more years.

90 Points Wine Spectator:

A modern approach, with roasted vanilla bean and anise notes leading the way for plum sauce and warm currant confiture flavors. A little firm wood still shows on the finish, but good material here.
Barrel Sample: 87-90 Points

Chateau Lanessan 2009

產區:Haut-Medoc, Bordeaux

75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot

89+/100 Robert M. Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate

"Ripe black currant fruit with some cedar wood, licorice and wood spice are all present in this generously endowed, concentrated, low-acid Lanessan. The tannins are silky, and the overall impression is one of elegance, plumpness and beautiful intensity. This is a sleeper of the vintage and one that should only improve over the next several years and merit an outstanding rating. It should keep for up to two decades."

Brilliant, classic, classified growth quality. Perfectly balanced Bordeaux from the left bank. A blend of about 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Situated in a great site, Lanessan's vineyard borders St.-Julien, between Gruaud-Larose and Beychevelle. This is overachieving in quality, especially from the great 2009 vintage. Outstanding potential after a decade or so, as its track record shows. One of the great buys in high quality Bordeaux today.

ST88: Bright red-ruby. Reticent nose hints at currant, licorice, mint and fresh herbs. Supple, sweet and spicy, with moderate ripeness and complexity. Not bad but could use more flesh and depth. Finishes with firm, slightly dry tannins. The percentage of new oak will probably be 95% rather than the usual 100%, said Faure, as the use of some used barrels toward the end of elevage will probably bring more freshness.
