blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, it is a surprisingly opulent, flamboyant, fleshy, soft crowd-pleaser displaying abundant amounts of smoked herbs, sweet black cherry and cassis fruit, licorice, espresso roast, chocolate, and toast. Full-bodied with superb concentration as well as a beautifully textured mouthfeel, this 2006 should drink well for 10-15+ years. Like all of the Neipperg estates, this wine's capsule has a clever anti-fraud device, which I think will be increasingly employed by many French estates.This nearly 30-acre estate, which was purchased several years ago by Stephan von Neipperg (owner of Canon La Gaffeliere and La Mondotte), performed exceptionally well in 2006.

Full ruby-red. Inky blackberry, black cherry, licorice and minerals on the nose. Sweet and densely packed, with a lush texture but also good enlivening minerality to the blueberry and dark chocolate flavors. 今日介紹Moueix家族的Belair Monange 的鄰居Clos La Madeleine， 呢間莊早年被巴黎的投資人購入，但沒有用心經營。直至1992年被投資公司SOGEFI 買下，進行大規模改革，設備升級。
Clos La Madeleine 座落St Emilion 高地及斜坡地，同Ausone 的土質類似，和Belair Monange的一樣，先天條件非常好。不過，酒莊佔地僅有2.3公頃，種植76%Merlot, 24%Cabernet Franc, 年產只有500箱(6000支)，2007年請到一級莊Angelus金鐘莊主，也是釀酒師的 Hubert de Bouard 做顧問，酒質突飛猛進，2012年係St Emilion 六年一次的評級中，晉升為列級莊Grand Cru Classe. 雖然成名，但認識的飲家仲係唔多，酒價也很相宜。直至2017年又被Moueix家族重金收購，好彩未被拼入Belair Monange, 還是保留Clos La Madeleine 的名稱。
2018年底返過一次貨和試飲過，係我的角度，呢個莊是Hidden Gems, 擁有超級名莊同樣的土質，唔出名，賣價超值，飲落是Terroir driven，香氣撲鼻，酒體優雅。

This wine showed beautifully in my tasting. From a tiny (29 acres) jewel of a property on the hillsides of St.-Emilion , not far from the big boys of the plateau area (Ausone, Belair, etc), the 2012 is dense purple in color, with sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, some crushed rock and floral notes, medium to full body, not a hard edge to be found, and a lush, well-proportioned, beautifully pure finish. This is impressive wine is clearly a sleeper of the vintage, but quantities are very small. Drink it over the next 15 years. The final blend was 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc.

Château du Domaine de l'Eglise 是 Casteja 家族1973年買下的其中一個產業，另外有左岸5級莊 Batailley, Lynch Moussas, 右岸St-Emilion GCC Trottevieille 等等， 實力雄厚，對酒質控制非常嚴格。
Château du Domaine de l'Eglise 是波美侯最悠久的酒莊之一，歷史可追朔至1589年。坐落於波美侯高地中央，土壤多為砂礫黏土，平均樹齡約40年，相鄰當地教堂，便因此得名，亦與Petrus酒莊相距不遠，附近還有Rouget, L'Eglise Clinet 酒莊等等，地段土質不容忽視。
深紅酒色，於60%新橡木桶內陳年16個月，酒體圓潤優雅、輕柔細緻，帶有櫻桃、桑子、紫羅蘭、烏梅等香氣；原瓶醒酒1小時，果香越是濃郁，此酒90%Merlot, 10%Cabernet Franc, 難以估計一般Merlot(左岸都唔得)會有此香氣, 只因pomerol靚田加持。酒體中等，開瓶口腔帶有點苦味，像是來自樹梗，也很有礦物味感覺，醒酒1小時後，苦味淡化，果香增多和圓潤單寧平衡得好好，收尾帶有絲絲雪茄盒香味。如果中段deep多少少，更有L'Eglise Clinet的影子。

This is a strong effort from La Pointe, another estate that seems to be producing better and better wines. A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 2011 reveals a dense ruby/plum/purple color, a sweet perfume of black raspberries, black currants, licorice and subtle high quality oak, medium to full body, and an expansive, broad, pure texture. Drink this sleeper of the vintage over the next decade.

90 Points Decanter : This is a rather lovely Médoc, if a touch more restrained that some others here. There is richness to the fruit, but it is tighter, with layers of bilberry and cassis and cedary oak, with attractive menthol notes on the finish. Ready to drink.

The 2014 Latour-Martillac has an attractive bouquet with intense blackberry, briary, warm gravel and balsamic notes that are very well defined and evoke Pessac-Léognan through and through. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe tannin. It feels gentle in the mouth, not structured but fleshy and full, fanning out with crushed strawberry, red cherry and white pepper towards the satisfying finish. This is early drinking compared to its peers, yet well crafted. Could it have striven for more? Yes, probably.

A wine that has pretty density of fruit, with lots of dried-berry and currant character. Medium to full body with fine tannins and a fresh finish. A little tight now. This year has more cabernet franc at 20%, along with 60% cabernet sauvignon, 10% merlot and 10% petit verdot. Better in 2017.

After several listless performances from this superb terroir near Cheval Blanc and the Pomerol border, La Dominique's 2006 exhibits a dense purple color and a sweet nose of licorice, nori (the seaweed wrapper used in sushi restaurants), raspberry, and kirsch. Full, with a certain flamboyance, ripe tannins, and a layered, long finish, this is a terrific La Dominique to drink over the next 12-14 years.

Full ruby-red. Aromas of black plum, molten chocolate, mocha and licorice show a slightly liqueur-like aspect. Creamy-sweet and lush, with a generous texture to the black cherry, violet and bitter chocolate flavors. Finishes sweet and smoothly tannic but with good backbone. This is the first vintage to be vinified by Jean-Luc Thunevin.

92 points Wine Enthusiast : The second wine of Calon Segur, the 2011 Marquis de Calon reveals a dark ruby color as well as juicy black cherry aromas, an attractive texture and a soft style. It is a pleasant, light to medium-bodied effort to consume over the next 4-5 years.
Representing just 30% of production and with the majority of fruit sourced from low yielding merlot vines planted on drought resistant clay based soils. The ripe damson and fruitcake laden nose has a top note of dark chocolate whilst there is lively acidity and freshness to the front palate which is filled out with plump and fleshy plum fruit and a touch of spice. Tannins are fine grained and velvety in texture, the lasting impression is one of elegance, balance and refinement. Technical director Vincent Millet considers “2011 closer to 2010 than 2008 in terms of quality”.

Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. Wow - this Saint Estèphe appears to be just getting into its stride. This seems reticent on the nose at first, but modest coaxing reveals scents of blackberry mixed with gravel and incense. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip, firm tannins and a pleasant salty tang on the finish. Masculine and structured, with good persistency and a lovely austere personality, Basile Tesseron and his team have overseen an aloof but engaging Lafon-Rochet that could be the dark horse of the appellation. Tasted January 2014.

This is a gorgeous opaque, ruby/purple Lalande de Pomerol that no one will be able to resist. Drink it over the next decade.

The 2012 Fleur de Boüard, from Hubert de Boüard property in Lalande de Pomerol, is an attractive, open-knit wine that will please readers with its inviting personality. Sweet dark cherries, smoke, licorice, game and savory herb nuances add complexity, but it is the wine giving nature that makes it impossible to resist.

As Belgrave improves each year, it reveals a character that is close to the elegance and style of Saint-Julien, right next door. Chateau Belgrave is situated in Haut Medoc , just west of Beychevelle in St Julien . It is also next door to Chateau Lagrange , which is also in St. Julien. Just a few meters further and it could have been in St. Julien. This 2010, while dense, is balanced, and its rich blackberry flavor is already integrating into its firm tannins. This should age well for the medium term.

Proprietor Alexandre Bonnie has produced brilliant white and red wines at this estate's NASA space age-looking winemaking facility. I remember these wines from the early days of The Wine Advocate, and they were undrinkable swill. That is certainly not the case today. This is classic Pessac-Leognan with leafy tobacco, smoky red and black currant, forest floor, cedar, and graphite notes. It is a medium-bodied wine of impeccable purity, texture, and balance.

Owned and managed by the team at Léoville Poyferré, Moulin Riche always offers excellent value for money and seems likely to do so again in this vintage. Immediately fresh and vibrant, this is a very pure style. With dark berry fruit, some smoky character and crushed stone structure to the tannins and a vein of acidity that gives this an almost-linear tautness, this is quite a grown-up wine in this vintage.
